Dimethylglycine HCL (DMG) is a derivative of the amino acid glycine. It is found naturally in plant and animal cells and in certain foods such as beans, cereal grains, and liver. DMG is produced in cells during the metabolism of choline (1) and is considered an antioxidant and enhancer of oxygenation at the cellular level (2). Plasma DMG levels have also been found to be lower in children with cystic fibrosis than in healthy children (4). Some studies have shown DMG may enhance oxygen utilization during hypoxia and reduce lactic acid build-up in the blood during stressful events (1). DMG should not be confused with trimethylglycine (TMG), also known as betaine, involved in the methylation of homocysteine to form methionine.
Sensoril® is a multi-patented, standardized nutraceutical extract of the Ayurvedic adaptogen, Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera; also called Indian ginseng or Winter Cherry), a botanical grown in India that has been revered for millennia for its health-promoting properties. A combination of evidence from traditional usage, in vivo and pre-clinical research of whole Ashwagandha powder, as well as previous human clinical trials involving Sensoril®, itself, has demonstrated the stress and anxiety-reducing, energy-enhancing, cognitive function-promoting benefits of Ashwaganda. This research has also illustrated its ability to help support better sleep, weight management, cardiovascular health, and blood sugar balance.5
